2024 Trivia Night

Join us for fun Trivia Nights during the year. There are Door and 50/50 prizes, as well as prizes for the winners. All proceeds go to help children in need and at risk in the Kanata and Stittsville communities.

Our next Trivia Night event is currently scheduled for the 2nd March 2024, at ALE – Amberwood Lounge & Eatery. Tickets are available by e-transfer at [email protected].

2023 Wine Survivor

We run an on-line “Wine Survivor Event” twice a year, in the Spring and Fall. Participants purchase tickets to land on the “Island”. Ticket options are: Single ticket; or Single ticket plus two additional “Buy Backs” (aka “Lives”). Each participant receives an individual ticket and a ticket number as a receipt. The ticket indicates if the purchase included two additional “Buy Backs”.

The elimination Draws are run over a two-week period on Zoom using an online Random Number Generator Wheel. As Names are picked during each draw, the person’s name is removed from the Draw list (i.e., removed from the Island). If a participant has purchased “Buy Backs” then their name is put back on the Draw list for the next draw. The two “Buy Backs” gives a participant three opportunities to remain on the “Island” and increases the chances of winning. All “Buy Backs” must be used in the final draw.

The prizes are allocated as follows:

1st Prize 25 Bottles of Wine

2nd Prize 15 Bottles of Wine

3rd Prize 10 Bottles of Wine

One bonus bottle of wine is issued to a person during each draw (10 in total), based on agreed upon criteria, e.g., last lady voted off the Island.

Average price per bottle of wine is $20.

Our next Wine Survivor event is currently scheduled for November 2023, with the ticket purchase deadline being December 3, 2023.

2023 Staples School Supply Drive

Staples Canada is wrapping up its 18th annual School Supply Drive to help give students a boost and is seeking additional donations.

Through Staples’ annual School Supply Drive, stores are raising funds to buy local children the necessary supplies and technology to support a successful school year.

Customers shopping in-store can choose to add a donation to their purchase, which is allocated to Staples’ charitable partner, the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada (Ontario). Donations can also be made online at staples.ca/SupplyDrive.

Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. Kiwanis strives to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.  Within Ottawa this includes providing needed back to school supplies and also chromebooks.

A yard sale is being held Saturday July 8th, 2023 from 8am to 1pm, at the Stittsville Village Square Park.

Please come out and see if there are some items that you have been looking for.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the youth in Stittsville and Kanata.
